Hotel Mariposa Review, Malaga, Spain

There are 52 rooms:  classic, superior and junior suites. All give onto the street at the front or rear of the hotel, and thus have plenty of natural light, rather than onto an inner courtyard or a wall.

I have stayed in Room 308, a standard at the rear of the building, with sky blue walls contrasting with the overall black and white colour scheme. There are two beds pushed together, reading lights, sockets by the bed and plenty more in the room. No socket-anxiety here. There is a good-sized desk with a black Panton chair, and also an art deco club chair to slouch in. The bathroom is spacious with a marble bath and panelling.

I have also stayed in the superstylish suites 101 and 301, which give onto the pedestrianised Casas de Campos street at the front of the hotel. These are twice the size but have the same sort of décor, just glammed up a notch or two: a king-size bed,  white leather sofa, Barcelona chairs, a larger desk and a kettle.
